Sugar-Free Electrolyte Powders: Sweeteners, Formats and Mixing Tips
Many of the electrolyte powders we stock are sugar free. This guide explains the sweeteners you’ll see on the label, the formats available, and how to mix a powder without clumps.
Sweeteners in sugar-free powders
- Stevia leaf extract (steviol glycosides)
- Monk fruit extract
- Thaumatin
Taste varies from brand to brand, so a single-serve stick or a variety pack is an easy way to try a flavour before buying a tub.
Unflavoured options
Some brands, such as Re-Lyte, make an unflavoured powder that you can add to water or another drink.
Formats
- Tubs come with a scoop and hold anywhere from 30 to over 100 serves.
- Sachets and sticks are single serves, handy for your bag or desk.
- Liquid drops are concentrated minerals you add to water.
- Capsules and tablets have no flavour. Check the label for the amount per capsule or tablet.
How to mix powder without clumps
- Add water to your bottle or glass first, then the powder.
- Use cool or room-temperature water.
- Seal the bottle and shake for 10 to 15 seconds, or stir well.
- Let it stand for a minute and stir again if needed.
- Keep the tub lid tightly closed and store it in a cool, dry place. Powders can clump when they absorb moisture.
